Job Description

Administrative Director of Early Learn

The Administrative Director of Early Learn Child Care program is responsible for the day to day operation and supervision of the ECED ACS/Early Learn Child Care programs.

Position Responsibilities:

?? Manage the CMCS ECED ACS/Early Learn child care programs according to our various funders' requirements.

?? Serve as a liaison between the child care sites and the ECED main office

?? Attend Policy Council meetings

?? Work closely with the various administrative and managerial staff within the ECED and CMCS.

?? Decision making in conjunction with the Senior VP of ECED and VP of ECED regarding program operations.

?? Coordinating and supervising the work of staff in developing and maintaining a total program in education, health, nutrition and social services to meet the needs of the children served

  • Supervising the bookkeeper in maintaining a system of financial recording and monitoring of tuition payments by families.
  • Establish time and work schedules for all staff in relation to the daily tasks. Scheduling appointment, individual and group conferences and vacations for all in keeping with the needs of the center for adequate staff coverage at all times.
  • Keep expenditures within budgetary limitations.

?? Represent the Division to outside agencies and funders.

?? Represent the ECED at meetings and conferences.

?? Work with other organizations in the community to foster collaboration as defined by the various ECED funders.

?? Facilitate the continuing professional development and ongoing training for all staff as part of the commitment to excellence.

?? Provide ongoing supervision of staff including monitoring verbal and written feedback, consistent with individual development plans for performance improvement and adherence to Head Start performance standards as well as to plan and direct work.

?? Submit performance appraisals in a timely manner (at least once per year)

?? Provide guidance and leadership to staff to emphasize the importance of the program achieving high standards of quality, internally and through public and private sector partnerships.

?? Monitor the implementation of the responsibilities of employees through observation, supervisory meetings, team meetings and review of files and documentation.

?? Manage training programs and technical assistance for all staff.

  • Assist the Management team in the interviewing, evaluation and recommendation of applicants for employment

?? Tasks as assigned.

Essential skills, experience, licensure, certification:

?? Bachelor's or Master's Degree in Early Childhood Education or a related field

?? Minimum of 5 years of experience in Head Start, Child Care and Universal Pre-Kindergarten

?? NYS Permanent Certification in Birth-2 preferred

?? NYS Principal or School Administrator Supervisor Certification preferred.

?? A proven track record of successful administrative level management, curriculum development and budgeting experience are essential.

?? Knowledge and experience in the philosophy and practices of Head Start, Universal Pre-Kindergarten, Toddler and Pre School Child Care, Early Childhood Education and developmental appropriate practices.

?? Experience with ACS/ACF/DOE/DOHMH/CACFP

?? Extensive experience in collaborating with parents in the education of their children

?? Ability to work as part of a team.
