Short Description

Avaya is looking for a Cloud Technical Sales Specialist who will drive the market adoption of our modern Contact Center and Unified Communications private, public and hybrid cloud solutions. This include CCaaS, UCaaS, on- and off-premise enterprise private cloud solutions, virtualized solutions on VMWare and KVM, OpenStack, AWS-hosted solutions, and public cloud solutions such as Zang. As a Cloud Solutions Sales Specialist, you will call on some of our largest accounts in the US to create aware and demand, identify and qualify opportunities, leverage your technical expertise, and drive the opportunities to closure. You will partner with area-aligned, non-technical Cloud Sales resources and account teams on these cloud opportunities, with your role being to take the technical lead on the cloud deployment model for the solution.

Primary job responsibilities

* Works with enterprise cloud sales and account management teams to build account strategies and guide the overall cloud strategy within a defined set of enterprise accounts

* Guides the customer from initially adopting virtualization to a private, hybrid, and public cloud, leveraging the Avaya cloud solutions appropriately for the particular customer

* Builds strategic relationships with C-level executives and key business leaders to promote Avaya's portfolio of enterprise cloud solutions through proofs of concepts and pilots

* Becomes a trusted advisor to senior IT and business executives within assigned accounts to create a long-term "trusted advisor" relationship with customers, and ensure these strategic relationships result in customers becoming a public reference

* Works with enterprise cloud sales and account management teams to ensure Avaya's cloud solutions are used in production environments and become the first choice for our most strategic customers considering cloud as a deployment model

* Serves as an expert consultant to uncover known and unknown needs, discover issues and drive definition of customer or partner business requirements.

* Leads cloud solution requirements and design validation activities.

* Translates technical advantages across the solution portfolio into business benefits for both tactical and strategic opportunities.

* Applies knowledge of industry and product roadmaps and expertise in large enterprise IT architectures and implementations to achieve trusted advisor status with account team and customer/partner.

* Delivers in-depth technical presentations to senior-level customers, partners, and prospects.

* Leads whiteboard discussions linked to specific customer/partner needs.

* Able to successfully represent the technical aspects of a solution and present how they solve specific business issues.

* Plans and leads demos, trials, and proofs-of-concepts for large-scale, complex integrations to customers, partners and prospects.

* Leads knowledge transfer sessions to educate the field, customers, and partners with the latest technical, industry and product knowledge.

Required skills

* Background selling complex customer solutions in a rapidly evolving technology domain

* 5+ years of enterprise business communications solutions sales experience, with 3+ of those years specifically focused on enterprise virtualization/cloud

* Experience selling into Fortune 500 accounts

* Record of working closely with customers to deliver solutions that exceed their technical and business expectations


5 - 8 Years of Experience


Bachelor degree or equivalent experience in Engineering or Computer Science
